Auz Country Carriers Customer Charity Donations

With the closure of City Life in Frankston in June, a charity which provided thousands of meals to homeless and disadvantaged in the local community annually[i], Community Support Frankston (CSF) has seen a notable increase in the number of these people seeking food and local support services over the past two months.

AUZ Country Carriers is proud to have created a long-term partnership with CSF by enabling a transport network where our customers are able to provide any non-perishable food and toiletry donations as part of your standard pick-ups. All donations are picked up by AUZ Country free of charge and our depots in Dandenong South and Morwell also act as collection points for CSF.

In August, AUZ Country received a huge influx of donations (over 4 pallets worth), from our wonderfully generous & supportive customer base for CSF. These donations will significantly assist in helping feed the most vulnerable and disadvantaged within our local community.

While throughout the year, ongoing support and donations are always required and welcome, from November onwards, CSF runs a specific appeal for donations of groceries to put together festive hampers worth over $80 each with a target of 200 hampers.

Last year, CSF was able to create a record 573 hampers containing food and gifts to be distributed to local families and people living alone from approximately $10,000 in cash donations and an estimated almost $30,000 worth of value in donated groceries, gifts and toys[ii].

This year AUZ Country would like to strongly support this initiative and encourages all of our customers to dig deep and set-up a box of donations to help those most in need within our local community. When booking your standard pick-up just advise you have a box for donations & label it “Donations” & your company name so we can thank-you.

Non-perishable food items of Christmas fare that can be combined with other groceries and made into hampers, for example are:

• Tinned ham or salmon
• Tins of garden peas, baby carrots, tiny taters, corn kernels
• 1 kg packets of Rice
• UHT Custard
• UHT Cream
• Large tins of Fruit Salad
• Tinned Plum Pudding
• Bottles of Cordial, Soft Drinks or Orange Juice
• Pringles Potato Chips (non-crushable packaging)
• Family size Party Mix Sweets
• Box of Christmas Bon-bons
• Christmas Cake
• Packets of Shortbread
• or anything non-perishable that has a ‘Christmasy’ label

AUZ Country Carriers and CSF thank all of our customers for the ongoing donations, and any of the above items will be packed into hampers by CSF volunteers prior to Christmas.
